I love working between design and development, and working with diverse teams to deliver projects on-time and to a high standard.
Conduct research to develop knowledge about and empathy for the product's users. This often involves talking to a range of actual users and stakeholders.
Combine all the research to define where the users’ problems exist and highlight opportunities. Organize all observations to identify common pain points and unmet user needs.
Explore creative ideas that address the user needs and frustrations identified in the define phase. Work together with stakholders to identify the appropriate next steps.
Build real, tactile representations to understand what works and begin to weigh the impact vs. feasibility of your ideas through feedback. Designs are iterated based on feedback.
Where possible turn to the product's users for feedback. Put the prototype in front of real customers and verify that it achieves their goals.
Put the vision into effect, using simple HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Maximising cross-browser compatibility and simplicity. This sixth step — implement — is crucial.
I'm always open to hearing about freelance product design and development projects (or if you just want to say hi!)
